Responsibilities

  •  Develop new compounds as per new legislation and customer requirements.
  •  Rationalise all existing compounds and ensure all NPI fit into the rationalised compound structure.
  •  Support existing and new compound suppliers.
  •  Support the technical team with NPI, sampling and problem solving, scrap and waste reduction.
  •  Manage and control material cost down activities in conjunction with purchasing.
  •  Support production and quality departments by means of vender rating Trend & Analysis.
  •  Support production ensuring all test results are supplied in line with customer demand.
  •  Support the commercial department with new business opportunities and NPI.
  •  Review objectives on a weekly basis achieving set target dates, deliver weekly reports & monthly KPI’s
  •  Work closely & support the commercial department with all new business opportunities & new product introduction
  •  Work with suppliers to ensure we meet all legislative requirements and develop formulations to satisfy customer requirements.
  •  Rationalise all compounds reducing the compound base to a minimum.
  •  Work closely with the technical manager and his team ensuring NPI is introduces to APQP methedology, assist with process problem solving, drive down PPM’s & reduce waste.
  •  Drive down material cost in conjunction with the purchasing department & drive down compound cost in conjunction with the supplier.

Requirement
  •  Experience with Polymers, in particular rubber/plastic.
  •  Experience in a similar role in manufacturing.
  • This role may also be of interest to a Development technologist, Material Technologist, Material Scientist, Polymer Technologist.
