Responsibilities

•Lead a technical team in support of customers on Custom Compound compression molding, extruding, calendaring and LSR injection molding and related troubleshooting /total technical solutions with significant business impact.
•Lead, coach and motivate a team of application development engineers and technicians to support customer requests and business growth.
•Work closely with the European sales organization on developing new business.
•Maintain existing and establish new relationships with customers with emphasis on key accounts.
•Work closely with the regional Application Development Leader to continue to improve the organizational structure and to develop and execute the vision for the Lostock ADC.
•Drive a global mindset in the team focused on mutual support, communication and shared learning.
•Develop the team to increase their technical capabilities, understand customer needs better, and through effective communication efficiently lead technical projects to completion.
•Maintain the Application Development Laboratory up to EHS standards and foster a culture of safety.
•Work with other on-site functions to maximize the efficiency of the team while supporting the needs of the site.
•Build a regional center of excellence for technical customer support and custom compounding consistent with that of the global application development concept.

Qualifications

•Technical professional with relevant business experience. PhD (8+ years), MS (10+ years), BS (15+ years). Background in chemical engineering, chemistry or chemistry related major is preferred.
•More than 2 years of professional experience in technical service, application development with polymer materials (plastics, rubber, adhesives, etc.) is preferred.
•Experience with silicone elastomers, particularly high-consistency rubber.
•Record of leading successful project teams with a major business impact.
•Experienced in methodical troubleshooting. Understanding of Design of Experiment. A Six Sigma certification is preferred.
•Diligent, agile and able to quickly respond to customer requests.
•Fluent English.
