Responsibilities

  • Support the transformation of the department by developing and deploying the departmental operational strategy ensuring that the Operational Excellence (OpEx) framework is embedded through tactical implementation plans driving regular and sustained step change.
  • Responsible for taking lead technical role in the introduction of new technologies and assisted projects.
  • Review of production and quality results daily and assist Paper Machine crews and the wider Production department teams with problem-solving.
  • Takes responsibility for customer complaints and internal CCARs relating to Processing issues, however main focus is ensuring defects do not leave the line first instance.
  • Takes on responsibility for correct Machine clothing, stock level, and this including supplier interface and clothing strategy.
  • Creates an aligned transformation across Papermaking sharing best available techniques with fellow Superintendants.
  • Proactively plan and engage with other departments to ensure a collaborative approach.Drive improvements to support the Safety, Security, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People themes.
  • Incorporate asset care methodologies including AM, PM & 5S into the day to day culture of how things are done in Overton.
  • Provide leadership and support to direct reports ensuring they are appropriately motivated, developed and performance managed.
  • Deliver project results driving loss out of the business whilst also delivering the cultural change.
  • Supports the collation and reporting of KPIs, and uses this information to monitor dept.performance; Provides feed-back to Cell Leaders and assists them to engage individuals fully by employing the relevant performance enhancement techniques.
  • Participates in the production review processes (daily/weekly/monthly) and supports effective communication of performance issues within Department, and external to Department as required. Qualifications and Experience.
Requirements
  • Management / Leadership qualification or recognition.
  • Technically sound understanding of Papermaking with ability to identify and resolve issues.
  • Quality, Health & Safety and Security focused.
  • Understanding of site policies, rules and regulations including collective agreements and HR policies and processes.
