Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of global level advocacy plans and policy positions in collaboration with colleagues
  • Develop a network of key contacts in the international policy community and build relationships with key contacts in governments, international bodies, corporates, the International Save the Children Alliance, NGOs and others as required
  • Support the Head of Hunger and Nutrition with, or directly hold, relationships with stakeholders amongst a variety of NGOs, think tanks, and governments
  • Monitor trends in the external environment and manage campaigns, undertaking media interviews as appropriate.
Requirements
  • Significant experience of policy research and analysis, having written and published policy reports and briefings and evaluating evidence of their impact
  • Proven experience working effectively with, and playing an organisational role in, coalitions/networks of civil society organisations
  • Proven ability to assess trends and developments likely to affect advocacy • Confidence in budget development and management
  • An academic qualification or equivalent experience on issues directly related to international development policy, public health, food security, livelihoods or nutrition.
