Responsibilities
- Oversee the testing of Raw Materials with our nominated external test house in line with the critical path, as well as through our own lab facilities
- Interpret test results and ensure collaborative working with tanneries and hardware suppliers to amend the process as necessary to achieve the required quality standard
- Reviewing and approving the sealed samples for leather and components (in conjunction with the Raw Materials Sourcing Development Manager)
- Distributing signed off sealed samples to Tanneries, Somerset based teams and storing London Samples
- Work collaboratively with key Central departments and Suppliers to ensure accurate and relevant information and best practices are shared
- Assessment of proposed and existing raw materials against the required quality standard
- Ability to identify and resolve potential problems in the end use
- Communicating with the production technical team on any issues that need following through into production
- Creation of Cutting Guides
- Manage the seasonal development of the leathers ensuring follow up of colour approvals and development list
- Provide the relevant departments with seasonal, physical swatches
- Provide the marketing team with all technical information for care cards and warning cards
- Day to date administrative tasks
Requirements
- Experience of working within leather industry
- Experience in the technical discipline
- Confident in liaising with internal departments and Suppliers
