Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a small team to deliver effective consultation and engagement with the environmental statutory and non-statutory bodies that will be most affected by the construction and operation of the LTC.
  • Build relationships and advocacy with environment stakeholders.
  • Establish/maintain trusted channels of communication between our environmental stakeholders and the project team, by acting as the voice of LTC to the external stakeholders and ensuring those stakeholders views are heard within LTC.
  • Work – as part of the team – to revise and regularly update the engagement plans for all stakeholders in your area.
  • Organise and deliver appropriate meetings, events and workshops to engage with environment stakeholders at all levels.
  • Keep accurate, well written and timely records of all interactions between our stakeholders and LTC project/stakeholder staff, ensuring LTC’s CRM systems are kept up to date, and that the information from those meetings is shared appropriately, both internally and with stakeholders. Ensure there is a robust audit trail of all engagement activity on the CRM system.
  • Draft high quality, well written reports, presentations, documents and briefings for varied internal and external audiences, as required.
  • Work with other External Affairs colleagues to support external stakeholder events, such as community roadshows, consultation events and other public engagement events, as required.
  • Ensure programme and reporting information is provided to enable effective reporting.

Experience
  • We are interested in candidates with a range of experience. This may be an exciting early role in your career where you gain experience and learn from more senior members of the team, or you may already have experience from elsewhere and be interested in sharing this to progress both the project and your own career further. The lists below give an indication of the type of experience and skills the ideal candidate may have:
  • Knowledge of approaches to engaging with a broad and diverse range of stakeholders, ideally within public sector infrastructure or regeneration projects
  • A willingness to support the preparation and delivery of workshops, roundtable and forum logistics, including developing agendas, project plans, note taking and production of reports
  • An awareness of likely issues pertaining to project development and authorisations, that may impact on local communities
  • Ability to analyse results data and produce written and visual reports.
  • An understanding of planning and environmental legislation would be beneficial.
Skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, and to identify, develop and maintain a strong network with those stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of the requirements associated with Development Consent Orders (desirable but not essential)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to schedule work, deliver to tight deadlines, respond to changing situations and use personal initiative.
  • Well organised, ability to plan and deliver a programme of events/activities.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Highly collaborative and demonstrates an ability to identify, develop and maintain a strong network of internal and external stakeholders.
