Responsibilities

  • Monitor progress against milestones for key company SuperResponsible40 objective of sourcing 100% renewable electricity in ours and our main direct suppliers’ businesses by 2040.
  • Consult, develop and implement the Group’s annual environmental sustainability plan focused on business objectives, ensuring operating budgets are managed and prioritised to deliver the environmental sustainability strategy. Manage third party contractors where necessary.
  • Manage Superdry’s energy and utilities procurement and contracts.
  • Manage and take accountability for Superdry’s environmental operating budget, prioritizing activities to deliver our strategic environmental plan.
  • Lead group environmental reporting covering packaging, CDP and annual reports.
  • Work with functions across the business to identify ‘quick environmental wins’ to ensure financial savings and reduced environmental impact.
  • Advise on cross departmental projects on resource efficiency and the embedding of Circular Economy principles.
  • Monitor group reporting/operations to align with domestic and international legal practice.
  • Measure energy consumption and administer the company energy efficiency program including management of third party contractors
  • Forward purchase Group energy contracts in a timely and cost effective manner across all territories.
  • Manage demonstrable improvement in environmental impact of Group product and supply chain, maintaining a centrally consolidated resource for best practice on resource efficiency opportunities.
  • Roll out of ISO 140001 and 50001 certification in key suppliers
  • Support local implementation of our SuperResponsible40 goals and wider sustainability projects

Requirements
  • Degree educated or equivalent in a relevant subject and ideally a postgraduate or membership of an appropriate professional body (IEMA, Energy Institute etc).
  • Confident in your understanding of environmental law.
  • Experienced in environment and sustainability management ideally within a large organisation. Experience with textile, fashion or retail industries would be beneficial but is not essential.
  • Familiar with Environmental Management Systems such as ISO14001 / ISO50001
  • Aware of the national and global energy markets.
  • A strong communicator, able to persuade suppliers to make changes, and have a genuine commitment to the need to improve ethical standards and supporting systems.
  • Experienced in managing operating budgets to deliver against strategic objectives.
  • Honest, passionate and committed, always operating with complete integrity.
  • Able to prioritise your workload and to take a logical and measured approach to complex issues.
  • Somebody that enjoys working as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team.
  • Confident in your written, oral and presentation skills using a wide variety of media.
  •  IT literate.
