Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring the portfolio is planned in a manner that delivers to the required cost and quality and within the agreed scope, including appropriate milestone definition, work breakdown structure, dependencies, and assumptions
- Ensuring the project work is executed and implemented according to the plan or any agreed changes to the plan and according to agreed project management standards
- Ensuring relevant and appropriate analysis, management information, and reporting is provided
- Ensuring that requirements, plans, risks, issues, actions, costs, schedules, benefits, and other related project artefacts are documented and tracked
- Ensuring that appropriate meetings are held and that outputs and artefacts are produced and distributed
- Utilising the relevant governance bodies/steering committees for the purpose they are established
- Ensuring that all project work is compliant with documented standards, templates, and frameworks, and captured in agreed toolsets
- Ensuring project stakeholder awareness, engagement, and communication. Analyse and identify possible risks and issues that could impact delivery and either resolve them or escalate as appropriate
- Ensuring the portfolio spends according to the agreed financial plan and provide proposals to adjust financial plan, when better insight reveals more appropriate costs
- Ensuring programmes and projects are compliant to the Programme Governance Framework
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in developing and tracking financial business cases
- Experience being part of a large PMO organisation/team
- Knowledge of project management tracking software such as Clarity
- Experience in operating in complex global organisations, with virtual teams
- Experience in support a highly structured Program Governance structure
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Stakeholder management and influencing skills with ability to operate at senior level
- Drive for results - Personal ownership and accountability for delivering against commitments. Monitoring performance against plans and re-setting direction as necessary
- Educated to Bachelor’s degree level or equivalent qualification/relevant work experience (in the Financial Services industry would be beneficial)
- Professional qualification in Prince2 and/or Project Management Institute Project Management Professional
