Responsibilities

  • Create high quality 3D models, shaders and texture maps, to match concept, photo reference, art direction, etc.
  • Work with our internal game engine using the pipeline and workflow required for creating characters, as well as participate in R&D of new techniques to implement into production pipeline.
  • Work with Art Directors, LeadSenior Character Artists and Technical Artists to create exceptional AAA models.
  • Display exceptional integrity and understanding of the work; constantly seeking ways to improve the efficiency of the workflow and provide documented feedback to improve in-house tools.
  • Work on tasks with clear direction, with and without supervision.
Requirements 
  • Formal art education such as BFA from accredited University, art or design school or equivalent level of experience required.
  • Minimum 4 years of professional gaming or cinematic work experience.
  • A comprehensive modeling and texturing portfolio showing a varied range of character art to a very high standard.
  • Ability to produce work in any required style from high realism to stylized.
  • A detail obsessed eye for creating and manipulating texture maps and excellent understanding of the value of UV space.
  • Rigging and weighting experience required.
  • An above-average understanding of working within a game engine and pipeline.
  • Candidates must be highly motivated, organized, personable and able to work as part of a team.
  • Traditional sculpting and art fundamentals experience a plus.
Skills
  • Advanced knowledge of industry standard software applications such as: Photoshop, 3DSMax, Z Brush, Mudbox, Topogun, CrazyBump, etc.
  • Ability to produce work in any required style from high realism to stylized.
  • Strong proficiency in rigging and weighting, UV Mapping and planning texture layouts.
  • A keen understanding of the human form/anatomy and structure/silhouette in respect of modeling.
  • Ability to work within a team; building collaborative relationships and resolving conflicts in a constructive manner.
  • Communicating in a clear and concise manner internally and with external studios.
  • Proficiency in the English language preferred.
